Thanks Amy, for hosting this quilt festival!

My submission is my Cross quilt made from soft unbleached muslin and a variety of my favorite pink and aqua prints. This is the perfect quilt for me because of the cheerful fabrics and it’s light and summery and makes me so happy to snuggle under! I was extremely inspired by all the awesome cross quilts at the Flickr Modern Cross Quilt pool and finally one Sunday morning, I pulled out these fabrics and pieced these 12 giant cross blocks and I was in love ^_^ The blocks are so  easy to make and they’re all free-pieced – just cut wonky stripes and sew! I used a lovely vintage sheet for the back and a solid teal fabric for the binding which really pops! The hand quilting took me the longest but really adds to the sweet and homey quality of this quilt. this is already my favorite of the quilts I’ve made probably because of the simple design and all those loving hours I’ve spend under the quilt while I was hand quilting it every spare moment I had over the last two months.

Sadly, because I just finished this quilt last night, I haven’t found the chance to take a proper picture of it in the sunlight so here are pictures that I took in this morning’s dim sunrise glow.
