*Sea Life 2010 Calendar is now available for sale at Spoonflower!! Order one fat quarter of quilting weight fabric to make one calendar! Order one yard to make four calendars!*
Thanks to another inspiring Spoonflower fabric design contest theme, I drew a sea life themed 2010 calendar with pencil and colored pencils. It started with a mermaid sketch and then more sea creatures flowed from my mind to the paper. I drew this on the back of freezer paper, on the non-waxy side, because it was the only paper that I had on hand that was big enough for a seamless 18″ x 21″ drawing surface ^_^ I actually really enjoyed the texture of coloring on freezer paper! After I finished coloring, I scanned my drawing section by section and merged the scanned images in PhotoShop. This was my first time creating a fabric design for Spoonflower using a completely hand drawn image!
You can see a larger image of the design on my Flickr here.
Thanks to everyone who voted for my Mochi Studios Ninja Beans Panel last round! I didn’t win but I came in 6th place with 167 votes! I enjoy indulging in fabric design but I need to get back and focus on mass producing plushies for my upcoming craft fairs!

Thanks, Eleen! You may not be getting the scanner/printer back! Hehe, I like the sea otter too! I’ve never hugged a sea otter before but they’re so cute!
